WHAT IS TSCM?
"TSCM" which stands for Technical Surveillance Counter Measures, refers to one subset of counter surveillance – the detection of electronic surveillance devices. TSCM is a vital component to any personal or corporate security plan. Our TSCM Investigators conduct comprehensive inspections, also called "Sweeps" of buildings, rooms, offices, vehicles and other places where covert devices may be hidden with our high technology equipment.
HOW CAN I TELL IF MY CONVERSATIONS ARE BEING LISTENED TO COVERTLY IN MY HOME, OFFICE OR VEHICLE?
Its generally difficult to detect covert listening devices without experience and training on what to look for. Anyone can purchase hidden listening or camera devices online for under $50. These devices can be diguised in clocks, charging devices, smoke detectors, key fobs and in other common household devices. During our bug sweeps, we not only use our high technolgy equipment, but also incorporate a comprehensive physical search to detect unfriendly devices.
IS IT ILLEGAL TO LISTEN IN ON PRIVATE CONVERSATIONS?
Each state has specific laws. In California, it is generally illegal to listen to private conversations without the other persons consent or with a court order. California is considered a "two-party consent" state.
HOW CAN I TELL IF I AM BEING TRACKED?
There isn't a simple answer, but if you feel you are being watched, followed or listened to, then we can assist in evaluating your situation. CAN I PUT A GPS TRACKER ON A CAR?
In California, the law does allow a registered owner of a vehicle to install a GPS tracker, but if involved in a divorce, domestic violence issue, or restraining order, it may be a violation of the law or an invasion of privacy even if you are the registered owner of a vehicle. As always, we recommend that you contact a qualified attorney to obtain legal advice before installing a GPS tracker.
HOW IS A APPLE "AIRTAG" USED FOR STALKING?
An "Airtag" is a bluetooth device the size of a quarter designed to find personal items through the network of iPhone users. Recently, criminals have used these devices to track people and vehicles to commit robberies, burglaries and stalking. Airtags have been found taped to bumpers, inside seats and under license plates.
